The library is closed from until further notice on the advice of the NYCC Library Service.
The NYCC Library Service will be putting out information on accessing Library Services online. They have a large number of popular magazines to read online. https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/libraries-0  Bedale Library are working on a way to get their second-hand book stock available on a book swap basis. The operation of the Home Library and Information Service for the housebound is still under discussion.

The practice is temporarily closed but they are operating an emergency telephone consultation service. Glebe House Surgery have confirmed that they are taking prescription requests over the phone.
Call after 10am and if you haven’t already done so, you’ll be asked to nominate a chemist. The prescription will then be sent electronically and, only if you can’t collect it yourself, one of our volunteers can collect from the pharmacy and deliver it to you. The surgery has been receiving numerous calls and requests asking for GPs to write letters/fit notes to give to their employers. They say ‘During this unprecedented time we respectively ask you to direct your employer to the government website below. We hope your employer will follow this advice under the circumstances. If you are already outside your house, go inside or step away 2 metres from your postie. Please do not approach your postie. If we tell you to stop and back off or close your door, don’t feel offended. We are only trying to help protect you from this virus.
